Have you ever realized how truly blessed you are? I did last evening. Mike and I were priviledged enough to walk our senior daughter on the football field to be honored for her 4 years of hard work in the band/color guard program. She has been captain of the guard for 3 years. But more than that, she has been a great leader spiritually and morally during these years of high schoool. I don't know how I got so lucky to have a daughter like her. During this evening, I also learned how truly blessed I am with the husband God sent me. Mike has not always been the most god-fearing man, but he has always had a loving heart. That is what I fell in love with years ago. Mike has become the man God wants him to be and my girls and I are so blessed to have him. He is not the richest, most athletic, smartest, or even the very best looking man in the world, but he is everything and more to our family. He loves and and he shows it to us. He is a great daddy. One that attends all of his daughters' events and supports them as strongly as he would have supported a son. Band is not his "thing" but he cheers for them and has even learned to be impressed by the show that they put on week after week. He coaches soccer and our youngest thinks she can't play without her "good luck daddy" there to watch. From soccer, to tennis, volleyball, softball and color guard, listening to band concert after band concert and even a piano recital or two, Mike has supported our girls through it all. He listens to them and wants them to have the best life possible. He is steady and strong when they need it and he is soft and warm when they need a daddy to cuddle. He is everything that I wish my dad had been. God is so good to bless our family with him.
